该剧设定在后末世的废土上，无名氏John Doe（安东尼·麦凯 Anthony Mackie 饰）是一个对过去毫无记忆的送奶工，口齿伶俐，车速也飞快。某次他得到了一个过上更好生活的机会——将一个神秘的包裹运送到后末世世界的荒原中。途中他和凶猛好战的偷车贼Quiet（斯蒂芬妮·比翠丝 Stephanie Beatriz 饰）建立了敌对关系，两人在这条道路上面临各种威胁：野蛮的掠夺者和开冰激凌卡车的精神错乱的小丑（威尔·阿奈特 Will Arnett 配音）。
